I sighed, and sheathed my own sword. "Don't get your hand hurt over it," I chided. Well, now that that was over with, we could finally actually swim. It was getting to the hottest part of the day, and I felt uncomfortably warm. Summer was the f#cking worst season...

I nodded, and looked up at the tree. "Let's pretend that f*cker never went into our tree." I said, and put my sword, in its sheath, up there, hidden amongst some leaves.

I liked the sound of our tree. I took the sword and sheath off my belt, and hid them in the foliage. It wasn't likely that anyone could find our weapons unless they were climbing and fell on them.

I sighed, and calmed myself by looking over at Cynder, and into her eyes. I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her.

I smiled, and kissed Lee on the cheek again. How was it possible that I was so angry just moments ago, and feeling so content now?

Annie decided that all of the commotion had quieted down now and there was nothing much to look at anymore so she turned and walked off. "Well, that was slightly interesting, I guess."

I smiled, because it felt like with just one kiss on the cheek, Cynder had made all of my stress just. .dissolve. I pulled her closer to me and kissed her.

I kissed Lee back, and folded my arms around his neck. I quite enjoyed the feeling of his bare skin underneath my hands... we definitely needed to go swimming more often, even if I was a complete failure at it...

I pulled Cynder as close to me as I could, and kept kissing her. Something about the chill of her hands on my skin felt amazing, and I realized that I should start making more excuses to not wear a shirt.

We could have just stood here making out for ages, but we would probably be badly sunburned by then. I smiled, breaking the kiss, though I still felt Lee's lips against mine.

I mouthed 'I love you,' since our lips were still touching. Hopefully that would be clear enough. .Cynder knew me well enough to figure it out, though.

Lee's mouth moved in a distinctive pattern against mine. Either he was saying I love you or olive juice. Probably the first one. My smile widened, and I pulled my head back a bit to say, "We should probably actually swim before it gets too late..."

I laughed. "Probably."I said, smiling again. I let go of Cynder slowly. "You didn't sya it back."I teased, talking about the 'I love you' thing.

BIC: I leaned in closer again, to whisper I love you in his ear, because I felt like being all romantic and stuff, but just when I was about to say it, a wave that must have been significantly larger than all the others so far rolled in at about knee height. The unexpected rush of cold water startled me, and I let out a very uncharacteristic "Eep" instead.

Gods dammit, that was stupid.

I had to catch myself from falling over, then kind of smiled at Cynder's reaction to the water. "First lesson: The water is neither your enemy nor your friend."I said, trying to sound all Sage-like.

"I see... tell me more, oh wise one," I replied with a laugh. The water receded, leaving us back on relatively dry ground. Well, sand. Wet sand. Whatever, it was dry compared to the actual water...

I smiled and grabbed Cynder's hand, leading her toward the water. "Since this is the ocean, you have to get used to the current and the tide, and remember about the under-tow. That's t-o-w, not t-o-e."I made sure to specify.

"Mhm... " Lee led me by the hand towards the water, and another wave rolled in. It was smaller, but we were closer to the sea now, so it washed over our feet. The cool temperature sent a shiver over my skin, but it was a hell of a lot more pleasant than the feel of the sun bearing down on me.

"Just remember, for when you first try this. .water is thicker than air and your arms move slower."I said, and dived underwater and then resurfaced, swimming out a bit, then turning so that Cynder could have a side view. Worst. Teacher. Ever.

Pfft, I knew that... I'd been in the water before. I just, you know, couldn't swim for sh#t. I watched Lee swim a small ways away, but ended up just admiring how good he looked in swim trunks rather than paying attention to how he avoided dying. Oops.
