| A smile played around the edges of her lips - Jack Frost, really? Someones parents hated them. She didn't comment though, tilting her head back to look Jack in the eyes, seeing as she felt awkward looking at his chest.
"Phaedra Lynne. Call me Adra." She introduced herself, not mentioned her dad.

| Jack offered a small smile, "Pleasure to meet you then, Adra." He sat down in front of her so they were about the same height. Not sure about how to carry on this conversation. | |

| Adra wrinkled her nose slightly as she realized that the boy had to sit down to match her height - if that wasn't a kick in the ego, nothing was.
"Nice to meetcha too." | |

| Jack smiled and was about to say something when the lake behind them started rumbling. Jack stood abruptly and reached for his staff when a massive monster erupted out of the lake. The water droplets sprayed all over them and Jack wiped them from his face, the boy blinked at a massive monster that somewhat resembled Nessie. Jack's staff froze over and the boy's brow furrowed. "Please tell me that is your pet," He said right as the creature's eyes fastened on them, the only 2 people at the lakeside. | |

| Upon hearing a giant splash she spins around, hand going to her throat instinctively as she let out a loud curse. "Uh, no! No pe- LOOK OUT!" As the serpentine monster began to strike at Jack Adra attempted to shove him out of the way. | |

| Adra missed Jack by inches as he darted towards the attack and he brought his staff down on the limb. The beast howled and withdrew, the part of it's body freezing over. The beast roared again and the ice shattered into a tiny million pieces. Jack's face drained of color. He rolled out of the way of the next attack. | |

| Shitshitshit, she thought to herself, panicking slightly and she took a step back. She'd have to use her powers, Adra realized grimly. Closing her eyes for a moment, she raised her hands slowly, the water building, before shoving - the waves pushing the beast back across the lake. | |

| Jack was panting heavily and he grabbed Audra around the wrist, his touch was like ice. Then abruptly the temperature in the area dropped, the color vanished completely out of Jack. The faint skin color turned white, his hair turned silver, and his eyes an ice blue. Then it began to snow around the creature, hard. The blizzard obscured them from the creature. "Kill it," he said softly, letting go of her wrist, Audra's skin now had a thin layer of frost on it. | |

| OOC: Adra*
BIC: She shivered and tried to get herself away from him - for one, she was cold and what was with the touching?! She rubs her arms and can't help but scowl at him slightly, a part of her blaming him for this.

| Jack cast her a sideways glance, "Hurry, I can only keep this up for so long before I pass out." Indeed the boy looked exhausted and the storm would only last for about five more minutes. "Unless you want to run." | |

| Adra gritted her teeth - bossy, he was so troublesome - and grabbed her broadsword from it's sheath on her hip before running onto the water - a cool ability she'd taught herself with her abilities, getting to the beast and with one energy filled swing lobbed the head of the water dragon off. | |

| Jack watched feeling guilty he wasn't much help. When the beast crashed into the water, very much dead. The storm instantly abated and heat began to flood into the area. Slowly Jack's color returned to his features. "Sorry," He grumbled and itched the back of his head, looking at the dead water dragon. "Where could it have come from?" His guess was as good as hers. | |

| Aspen sat down quietly by the lake. It was shimmering, shining, and if you looked close enough you could see the water nymphs―the naiads― giggling and weaving baskets at the very bottom. She watched the bubbly teenage-looking sprites for a while. They seemed happy. Bright. Cheerful. That was something she wondered if she would ever be able to understand. Aspen was a girl who had grown up struggling with many things. It was hard, with the kind of life she had been given. And also considering her personality, it was quite difficult letting people in. She honestly didn't know why, but she had trust issues. Severe ones at that.
The naiads noticed her staring at them, and they laughed merrily and waved. In return, Aspen rose a hand in the air, and then dropped it. She directed her gaze elsewhere.
From where she was sitting (almost directly in the center of camp), she could see almost everything, everyone. There were people canoeing on the lake, playing volleyball or sparring. There were couples walking alone together, and clumps of Aphrodite girls in overly revealing bikinis.
She didn't belong anywhere. She was a loner. Always had been, always would be. She didn’t know how to “fit in” and suspected that that would never change.
Aspen liked to dress in dark clothing, and wear dark makeup every once in a while. She liked to hole up in her room and read books that people had called “evil” when she was in the mortal world. They were books of witchcraft, books of magic and spells and such. At least now people considered it to be normal for who she was. She was a daughter of Hecate. She had learned that those spells were real. That she could perform them easily. Well, some were easy, others were complicated. She remembered telling herself to stop lying to herself, to admit that this stuff was mere fiction. But through all that, she had always felt a connection to what she read.
Still people were wary towards her. Still they treated her like the odd one out. They all avoided her. Yet people were okay with the Hecate cabin. They seemed to respect them. Despite the fact that the other Hecate kids were mostly like her— well no, that wasn’t true. She isolated herself. She actually kept herself closed off. That was probably why, to tell the truth. The reason why she was alone. She didn’t have the courage to say hi. And she made such a reputation for herself in that way over the past two years that they just let her be alone.
Aspen shifted her head to look at the sea. This place, this camp, was supposed to be the home of misfits. For kids who didn’t belong anywhere else, to finally belong here. And yet…. She was still a misfit. And she felt that through everything, that fact would never change.
She didn’t like the mortals, never had, because they were mean and never could understand. In the past she had felt no lust for friends. Her books were her friends.
When she had arrived at camp half-blood two years ago, for the first time in her life, she wanted something more to herself than inanimate objects. She wanted friends.

| Jason walked to the lake looking for his brother. Most of the time, he would find him near the lake. "Where the heck is he, we're suppoose to be practicing now he's never not showed up" he whispered. Seeing that he wasn't there, he started to leave. 'Oh well, he might be already there' he thought. When he started to go to the practice area alone, he noticed a girl, maybe about his age, staring into the blue, clear water. "Huh" he said, "what is she doing?" Curious, he went over there, "What'cha doing?" he asked curiously looking into the water. | |
