"Hmmmm," Zero hummed as she closed her eyes. She worried slightly that someone dangerous would walk into the infirmary, looking for easy pickings, but Daz could more likely than not handle anyone like that. She fell into a deep sleep, which was very good for the healing process.

Daz watched Zero for a minute or two to make sure she was really asleep, and then stood up. He did a few jumping jacks to loosen his muscles a bit, and then tried to do yoga. He knew some basic positions, so he tried those. He wasn't very good at it. He'd never really had to be very flexible, just fast and strong. He figured thisbwas something he ought to do more often if he was going to get proficient at it. It woukd certainly help in a lot of ways. He thought of hiw flexible Zero was. This lead to a string of thoughts that ended with Daz remembering taking Zero's shirt off, and... He shook his head to clear the image, and continued to do yoga. After a while, he sinply laid downbon the floor to let his body recuperate and relax. He drank a bottle of water and just sat on the floor and waited for Zero to wake up. Most sleeping pills lasted somewhere around six hours...

It seemed like Zero slept for a very, very long time. In reality, it was only about seven hours. Which, admittedly, was a very long time. She hadn't had such a peaceful sleep in a long time. When she awoke it was... sometime very early in the morning. Still dark. The painkillers were still effective, she could tell, because the pain in her head was dull and cloudy. She opened her eyes and started to sit up, but winced and lay back down. Ow, bad idea. She glanced around for Daz in the mildly dark room, and found him sitting on the floor. That couldn't be comfortable.

Daz, not for the first time, was trying to learn to meditate. It just was not something that worked for him. His body wanted him to be out moving. He normslly would have gone hunting or something, but then he would've left Zero alone. However, in this quiet state, he was able to hear her stir, and the soft little ploof the bed made when she realized she couldn't get up. Daz stood, and wobbled a little. Apparently one of his kegs had fallen asleep. He walked awkwardly over to Zero, half-dragging one of his legs. He noticed that the sheet had fallen a bit while Zero had slept, but instantly moved his eyes on uo to her face. "I'm assuming you slept well?" He asjed, a small smile touching his lips.

Zero didn't appear to notice that Daz's eyes had taken to wandering a little ever since her shirt had been taken off. She did notice that he was sort of dragging one of his legs. She didn't remember him injuring it, and since he'd probably been sitting there for a long time, it was likely that the leg had fallen asleep. A somewhat amused smile manifested itself on her face, and she answered her boyfriend with a nod. She wanted to sit up and stretch a bit, but that would hurt so, so badly.

Daz looked around for a second, trying to collect his thiughts. Seven hours and he hasn't thiught of what to do when she woke up. Brilliant. "Uhhhh... Zero, are you hungry?" He asked. Wait..."Would you be alright to eat? What if there's a hole the food falls through..." he trailed off, realizing he was probably exaggerating her injuries. Maybe he shoukd let her do the talking? I mean, she was on some drugs but at least the person she loved hadn't be stabbed in the gut.

A chuckle escaped from Zero before the resulting pain cut her off, but that didn't stop the query from being funny. "I think my innards are mostly healed up," she replied, "but eating might not be a good idea yet..." She looked down at her stomach, and prodded the topical injury carefully with her fingers. It seemed that the god-food had prioritized inner healing over the surface wound, because it seemed that the stitches were the only things holding her skin together.

Daz nodded. "You'll probably have to stay in bed for a while, at least until your skin closes up..." He said, and thought about things do to in a bed. No, no, not only was Zero recovering but that was just... Well, they'd been dating a while... but no, not the right time. Daz took her hand in his, not knowing what else to say, and not trusting that he'd say something conpletely appropriste to the situation.

As boring as that sounded, it was really the only option. Zero let out another soft sigh, and traced a circle on the back of Daz's hand with her thumb as she tried to think of something to pass the time. What could they talk about? There were a lot of potential subjects, and choosing one was... difficult. There was one thing in particular she'd wanted to mention for a while, but... well, it was sort of embarrassing, and this probably wasn't even the right time for it.

Daz smiled when he felt Zero drawing a little circle on his hand. There was a bit of a silence; one that Daz thought was definitely a little bit awkward. He couldn't helo but wonder if Zero was thinking of the same thing as him, but for some reason he doubted it. He ran through different scenarios of discussing it in his head, and many involved Zero slapping him. Although the other ones... maybe it was worth the risk. It wasn't something unnatural for him to think about. He opened his mouth and then closed it, trying to think of how to word it. Some of his speeches would sound like he was going to propose. Zero, we've been together a long time... No, that would be tacky. He could start out with God damn you just always look so sexy. but that sounded worse. So he just blurted the word out. "Sex."

Zero looked up, very alarmed all of a sudden. Did he just say what she thought he said? Why? Now wasn't... exactly the right time to discuss that... probably? All the same, Zero tried to keep her cool, and reply calmly enough. "What about it?" Yeah, that was... a decent response, she supposed.

He said, and realized he'd spoken really quickly. He then added, "You know, not right now, of course..." He wasn't even sure ifbshe had understood him, but her response hadn't been to slap him. Yet. That was good, hopefully. And she couldn't walk away in frustration. Hopefulky she didn't make him leave, but Daz was feeling hopeful. Hope hope hope.

Zero caught almost every word, and pieced together what she missed. The result was that she turned an embarrassing shade of red and looked at the wall as if it had suddenly become very interesting. It wasn't common for her to blush this badly, and that made it all the worse. She... she wasn't sure how to respond. She wasn't exactly... opposed to the idea. She just felt... afraid? Nervous? About what, though? That she wouldn't be, to put it bluntly, any good in bed? That might be part of it. She bit her lip and tried to formulate some sort of answer. "I... well... not right now obviously, yeah, but..."

Well, everything went better than expected. Daz was smiling a bit too widely, so he hid his face. He hadn't seen Zero turn that bright red in a while, and her answer was good. So, after she was healed a bit more... Daz would have run up and picked her up, hugged her, something, but he didn't want to hurt her. So, instead, he judt put his hand on her cheek and kissed her.

Wha- was now really the time for kisses? They had just been talking about that, and, and kissing would not lead to good thoughts right now. Which wouldn't really be problematic if she suddenly healed up real quick. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, and not-so-innocent thoughts immediately sprung to the forefront of Zero's mind, which caused more blushing, which effectively limited the kiss to a couple of seconds. Aekghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhgksuhkughugnb!

Daz couldn't help but smile when he felt Zero's cheeks warm up again. Then he thought about cheeks for too ling and was blushing as well. This was... problematic. They'd had their little "talk" and now they had to wait for Zero to get better. After so long, it woukd seem like this wouldn't be a problem. Just a day or two more and Zero would be fine, as long as there was a little God food/drink. But the anticipation, now that they'd talked about it, was almost too much for Daz to handle.

Zero didn't really feel like waiting, now, actually. She looked around for some nectar or ambrosia. Was that some ambrosia in a bag on the table? Zero sat up a little and reached for it -- sitting up didn't seem to hurt quite as much now -- and lay back down once she had the bag in her grasp. She broke off as much as she thought she could stand, taking into account yesterday's use, and ate it quickly. She'd moved fast, in case Daz decided he should stop her from pushing her limits like this.

Daz watched as Zero reached over and grabbed more ambrosia. He should probably stoo her, but she certainly would know her own limits, right? And when she sat up, the sheet had just tumbled off, and his eyes wandered a bit... and then focused on her wound. He gebtly put his hand on her belly, to the side of the stitches. It was incredibly warm, and he hoped it hadn't gotten infected. Then he realized that it probably couldn't have, with all the nectar and ambrosia. But still.. if it didn't close uo with the next round of healing, he really shouldn't... But, Zero was just... so... he couldn't even think straight at the moment. It was too hot in here, that's why. Maybe he should takr his shirt off? That would probably be smart, since it was so warm... He hesitated, watching Zero's stomach.

The feeling of Daz's hand on her bare skin was a nice one, Zero wasn't going to deny that. Unfortunately, though, the contact spawned a host of thoughts about other places that hand could go, which definitely didn't help the blushing situation. And neither did the... staring. He was probably just analyzing the wound some more, but it made Zero think about her dissatisfaction with her body. It wasn't bad, per say, but it could definitely be better.

At first Daz thought his eyes were playing tricjs on him, but after leaning close, he saw that Zero's skin was starting to close up and knit itself together. He realized his cheej was uo against Zero's side and blushed, then realized that she would feel that and stood uo a little straighter. He looked around. Not many peopke were in the infirmary right now, but someone could walk in any second. He looked to Zero's eyes and asked, his voice a tad lower than normal for some reason, "Here?"

Did Daz mean what she thought he meant? Here? There didn't seem to be anyone else in here, and since it was very early in the morning, she doubted people would be flocking in. "Lock the door and shut the windows first," she muttered. It would make things a lot darker without star and moonlight shining in through the glass, but that was potentially a good thing. She looked down at her stitches, which weren't really needed anymore, and pulled at the thread that had previously held her skin together. It came out rather easily, albeit accompanied by a strange sensation.

Daz wondered if there might be better places to do this for the first time, but Zero probably didn't have much strength to go hiking to a perfect spot. So he got up and locked the door, even go so far as putting a chair in front of it. Then he made sure all the windows were closed, locked, and had the blinds down. Then he started to walk back towards Zero and, paying attention to her rather than where his legs were, tripped over a chair and fell. The slight pain was nothing compared to the embarrassment he faced as he stood up and put the chair back in its place, then walked the remaining distance over to Zero. He was that she was pulking her own stitches out.

Oh, Daz seemed to have... tripped. Zero actually giggled a little, which was not exactly in-character, but she was feeling very high-strung at the moment. Anyways, that string was out of her, now. There was a small trash can off to the side and she dropped the thread in it. There. She was still in slight pain, but she could ignore that very easily. What she couldn't ignore was the sudden wave of nervousness that washed over her. Oh, gods, she was going to end up as a huge disappointment.

Daz just smiled at Zero, and walked up on one side of the bed. He bent down and put one hand on Zero's face as he kissed her. He then got up on to the bed and on to Zero. Daz considered whether or not he was really ready for this. then, a moment later, he thought, What will my mom think? This was obviously not a good thing to be thinking of while he was on top of a half-naked woman he loved, so he pushed the thought aside. And then he remembered there was a half-naked woman in a bed with him and most other thinking ceased.

It didn't take long for the kiss to turn into more of a makeout, and Zero found that her hands had somehow found their way under Daz's shirt, and were now gradually pulling it off. Despite her not feeling like waiting for a few days earlier, she seemed to be quite content with taking her sweet time now.
