I frowned even more for emphasis. "Are you sure...? I asked, as I reached up hesitantly for the tie on my blindfold.

With a semi-exasperated sigh, I pulled at the knot that held the ends of my blindfold together. The light cloth tickled slightly as it slid off my face. Now, even though I did not have eyes, I still had eyelids, and they were shut lazily closed over the empty caverns that were my eyes sockets.

I pointed at where my eyes should be. "My eyelids don't open so well," I explained, and poked one of the useless flaps of skin. It moved aside like a macabre curtain, and my finger went straight into my eye socket. "See? No horrible pain and blood."

"Oh." That was kind of gross, but intresting. "So, what's your name..? who's your parent?" I was trying, oh so hard to change the subject.

I tied my blindfold back on as I answered, "Rhiannon-Aithne Lynch, daughter of Fortuna. But that is quite a mouthful, so you can call me whatever you like."

"Me too." I say agreeing with Ethos. "I'm Rumor, daughter of- Let's just go with me being Rumor."

Well, that was curious. Why was Rumor not saying who her parent was? Maybe she didn't know. Maybe she was embarrassed. Or maybe it was something else entirely. Oh, well, it was not really any business of mine to be snooping about it, so I said nothing.

"That is quite a unique name," I noted. "Does it mean anything?" Ethos had not named her parent either. Was she concealing that fact as well, or had she just not gotten around to mentioning it?

Ethan boredly walk back to New Rome, since he didn't want to wait around doing nothing. He saw Rumor, Ethos, and some other girl standing there talking and he shrugged and walked back over to them. "I miss anything important?" He asked Ethos when he got to them.

"It means like.. emotions.. I guess. I don't know why my parents named me that." Then, I saw Ethan come over. I smiled a little and my face turned kinda red. "Oh.. nothing really. This is Rhian. And Rhian, this is my friend Ethan." I gestured when I pointed them out, even though Rhian couldn't see..

"Hi." Ethan said to the girl and then noticed the blindfold and wondered why she was wearing it. He didn't ask her though cause he didn't want to be rude.
