Training..{Open}

Bethany Chandler

Bethany walked into the arena, choosing a rather beaten up dummy. She dragged it over to the far right of the range. Slashing at the dummy with brute force, Bethany was getting tired out. She walked over to her gym bag and pulled out her large bottle of water. She put her twin daggers on the ground and took a seat. She was sweating. Luckily she had put on some really good smelling deodorant.

I walk in the Training room and grab a brand new dummy that looked fresh,though it wouldn't stay like that for long. I unsheathed my broadsword and went to stabbing and slashing at the dummy.

Bethany got up off the ground and walked back over to her dummy. She raised her sword, ready to strike. She slashed at the dummy. Straw flew everywhere, heck, she was even covered in it. The dummy lay in bits on the ground.

I started getting tired and started to ache. I am out of shape and i haven't swung a sword in a while. I laughed to myself while I watched a girl that i noticed in the room destroying a training dummy. While watching I got out a bottle of Gatorade that I brought with me and drank it. " Whats up" i said without thinking about the Gatorade in my hand i went to wave but spilled it on the ground.

Bethany smiled. Her sword dropped to her side. "Nothing. Just trying to get a bit more training..." Bethany walked over to boy. "I'm Bethany Chandler, daughter of Aphrodite." Beth smirked.

"Hi i'm Owen son of Hephaestus, nice to meet you Bethany" he said while trying to get another bottle of Gatorade from his bag.

Bethany looked at the spilt Gatorade. "Need help cleaning that up?" Bethany nodded at the red liquid. She wasn't fond of Gatorade or any drink like it. Beth looked at Owen. The red Gatorade was slowly expanding toward Bethany. She scrambled off the ground.

"I guess if you don't mind" I said getting a rag to wipe it up though it probably wouldn't be very effective. I saw her move away from it as the Gatorade advanced to her. I hold out another rag for her.

Bethany gratefully took the rag and started to press it down on the red puddle. She had her whole rag soaked with Gatorade in a matter of seconds. She went out of the arena and twisted the rag until all the juice came out. Beth headed back to where Owen had almost all the Gatorade soaked up.

I go to wiping away at the Gatorade and it got full of Gatorade and it was mostly off the ground. I wiped one more time and it was all gone. "Thanks" I said to her grateful for her help. "How are you doing today" I say balling up the rag and throwing it into the trashcan. it missed so i walked up and put it in. talk about embarrassing.

"I'm good thanks. How about you?" Beth dragged a dummy over to where Owen was and started to slash at it. She hit it in the face with the hilt of her dagger. Beth stopped for a moment and looked at Owen.

"I'm good though i haven't been here in a while so my sword arm is sore" I say taking out my CB broadsword looking at my arm in shame.

"How long were you gone? I don't recognize you." Bethany nodded at his arm. "Don't be ashamed, I'm not that good either." She laughed at herself.

"I have been gone for a few months, when did you get to Camp Half-Blood." I say feeling a little better and taking a sip from the Gatorade noticing this isn't even a good flavor.

"About five years. I came here when I was ten." Bethany made her lips into a straight line. She had been training ever since she was ten but, still wasn't very good.

"i came here when i was 13 and i can fight, just not very good" I say.

"I guess fighting just doesn't come naturally to me." Bethany shrugged. She didn't care much about fighting. She liked to help out at the infirmary and stuff during capture the flag and war. She wasn't one for fighting.

" I am not much a fighter, more a builder." I said. Even though i might look built, it is actually just being stocky. All being in the armory all the time does is strengthen your arms and your steel.

Bethany smiled. "Hmm..." She didn't know quite how to answer that. It was a statement. No questions.

"So what are you doing after you are done training" I say.

"Probably going for a swim in the Lake, what about you?" Bethany played with her sword.

"Nothing really, maybe just go to the forge i don't know" I say taking out a shard of metal of rocky.

Bethany smiled. "I wish I could weild and stuff. I suck at it." Bethany had been dating a Hephaestus boy when she was 14 and had almost burnt her hand to a crisp. He had let her have control of some fire. Never again. Beth smiled again and played with her earrings.

"Well it isn't as hard as you think, I mean it depends what you are making." If you ever wanna stop by the forge you are freely welcome." I say slashing a head off a dummy with expertise. Maybe not the flashiest move, but flashy isn't my style.

Bethany nodded. Everything seemed harder for Bethany. She was an expert on make-up and hair. Sometimes fashion. Not weilding and fighting.
